Dear Ideas United:
Hi! My name is Jessica Wuensch and I want to show you why I would be a great addition to the Ideas United team!
My background is a double major in Visual Communication (aka print and publication design) and Strategic Communication (aka traditional PR and marketing). In college I learned the all the traditional basics for these industries... and quickly learned that I want to be anything but traditional or basic.
Really, I just want to work somewhere that I can have fun, work with a strong, supportive team (don't forget to challenge me sometimes!), and use my combination of skills to create work that I can proud of.
EVERY BRAND HAS A STORY TO TELL, AND I WOULD BE HONORED TO USE MY SKILLS TO HELP TELL THOSE STORIES.
Check out a few reasons why I think I would be a good fit for this position below, and feel free to click around my website and to see all my experiences (and a few hidden gems like gifs of me dancing and awkward outtakes!).
Freelance gave me the opportunity to try something other than the newspaper cover mockups we were doing in class. By some amazing luck I connected with Maxie McCoy and have been part of her team for two years now, taking her incredible writing and turning it into worksheets and anything else Maxie asks of me.
I've also had the great fortune to work with the incredible people at Levo League last summer to help create guides for their Levo Courses series. The variety of content was challenging to say the least, but I learned so much.
Oh, and I've gotten to do some fun stuff like wedding and baby shower invitations, and even a youth talent show program!
I love that Ideas United works with a variety of brands and does more than just one type of creative project! I thrive on challenge, and variety is good for the creative soul.
I have found that when I find ways to be creative IRL, it makes me more creative in my design work. Life imitates art? Or art imitates life? Either way, if it is colorful, challenging, or makes my brain work, I can't get enough.
Some of my favorite ways to express creativity (you can see more examples of these things on my Instagram, tucked in between selfies and travel photos).
- DIY crafts
- Dancing (poorly, usually)
